Girls on the Run is a life-changing, experiential learning program for 3rd through 8th grade girls (at Ballard 3rd-5th graders). The program combines training for a Girls on the Run 5K Community Celebration with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the program are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development. The 10-week program begins the week of February 27, 2017 and ends with a 5 K celebration fun run on May 18, 2017 (more information to come for students who are participating). Teams will meet on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3:50 to 5:00 at Ballard.

Lessons are designed to lead the girls toward: wise health choices, positive body image and self-esteem, positive emotional and social development, improved eating and exercise attitudes, and acceptance of themselves and their peers.
Go to www.gotrberrien.org to register. Registration ends on January 19th. Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come/first serve basis.

The person in charge this year is Marissa Newhouse. If you have any questions please contact her at Ballard, ext. 10513.
