Food Service Announcement:

USDA School Meals Announcement

The USDA has announced the extension of the Summer Food Service Feeding Program until
December 31st OR until Federal funds run out.

What does this mean? This will mean that all students in Niles Community Schools will not
be charged for Breakfast or Lunch. The meals will be free until December 31st or until Federal
funds for the program run out.

Do parents still have to turn in a Free & Reduced application?
YES. It is still very important that parents fill out the Free & Reduced paper work for a couple of reasons.
1) This information is critical as the USDA uses this information to determine need.
2) This program may end before December 31st .

When this program ends, students will return to full pay if they have not turned in an application. If that happens parents will be responsible for any and all meal charges accrued from the end date of the USDA summer program until the time they turn in a Free & Reduced application.
